Marshmallow is the new black: the floaty pink dresses to get you through the summer

Marshmallow is the new black: the floaty pink dresses to get you through the summer

Puffy pink dresses aren’t just for the kids parties you’ve got lined up this summer – they’re the chic and feminine garb that are as comfortable as they are pretty

Sure, an LBD may be a wardrobe staple, but between restrictions at house parties, time limits at the pub, and the weather right now, we’ve had enough of the dark and dreary. Our dreams are floating towards a decidedly brighter hue; one that will brighten up our dejected WFH wardrobes, and have us feeling back to our pre-2020 selves.

Pink is a divisive colour at the best of times, but I find myself increasingly drawn to it as I get older, which kind of seems like the opposite of what should be happening. It’s girly, it’s frilly, it’s frivolous, and yet I feel as womanly and confident as I can in a good pink dress. The high street, thanks to the initial trend-setting of H&M earlier this summer, is overrun with floaty pink dresses, akin to those we would have donned as toddlers. Surprisingly little about them has been updated – the shape is still maximised (literally) for comfort, the hue is as eye-watering as ever, and yet they perfectly suit our SS 20 sartorial moodboard.

Having searched high and low for my next puffy pink addition, here are some of my favourites I’ve found.
