Comfy But Chic Weekend Wear

Comfy But Chic Weekend Wear

Does your weekend wear lack lustre? Does the word Athleisure intrigue and strike fear into you all at the same time? Well, don’t panic. There’s a happy (and very stylish) medium between high-fashion sports-cum-daywear and pedestrian running gear. Here’s how to achieve a comfy but chic weekend wardrobe.

Rule 1: Get yourself a pair of cuffed trousers. They come in comfortable fabrics like jersey, silk blends and cashmere mixes. They’re neater than traditional tracksuit bottoms but far more forgiving than leggings. And they look like you’ve made an effort, but not overdressed. These will be the basis of your weekend wardrobe.

Rule 2: Try out a fashion trainer. Once you start wearing them, you’ll never go back to chunky biker boots simply for running around at the weekend. They’re lightweight, soft-soled and modern. Comfy and cool, they’re what Ugg boots were to casual wear ten years ago.

Rule 3: Invest in an elevated hoodie. This coming season, they’re the epitome of chic. Again, they strike just the right balance between looking like you’ve thought about what you’ve thrown on, but not too hard. I love a?cashmere hoodie, especially when paired with a silk-mix trouser. From velvet to embroidered and brocade, hooded tops are all over the high street right now so take your pick.

Rule 4:?Good quality T-shirts can transform weekend wear from scrappy to chic. Finery London is the best place to buy T-shirts that can be thrown into the machine time after time without winding up misshapen. Plus, they’re super soft and comfortable to wear.
