5 Skirts For Every Season

5 Skirts For Every Season

The great thing about skirts is that you can layer them depending on the weather – with tights or without, over leather leggings or skinny trousers, or simply bare-legged. They’re far more versatile than most of us realise. Here are my favourite skirts, which, with a bit of clever styling, can be worn whatever the weather.

I love this lace midi. The colour is rich and will pair beautifully with September’s autumnal?tones, while it works just as well with bare legs and a simple grey tee in summer. I’d wear this over skinny trousers come autumn to give it a less feminine feel, and add something else textured on top like a cashmere sweater, which will contrast nicely with the pretty lace.

A pleated skirt should be on every woman’s wish list. I’m going for this metallic version which adds a bit of an edge. It will look so chic, yet simple, worn with black tights and a black turtleneck (the most on-trend neckline for autumn).

Stripes are such an easy way to inject pattern into an outfit. I’d wear this piece?with a checked top (the must-have print of the new season) for a stylish “clashing” effect.

There’s something luxurious about wearing white?in winter. This pretty floral’maxi?(beautifully styled here for summer) will also translate when the weather becomes cooler. Simply style it up with charcoals and slate greys.

The oversized pockets give this midi a slight utilitarian feel which I love. Again, this shade of maize is?a great colour?to see you through the seasons. I’d probably pair it with leather leggings?in winter to take away the slightly suited feel of this style of skirt.
