Wednesday night saw the launch of IMAGE’s brand new wedding magazine Bash. Hosted at the secretive and stunning location that is The Architectural Archive on Merrion Square, the night saw creatives and press gather for this totally fresh new publication edited by Kate O’Dowd. Among the guests were photographers Richard Gilligan, Sean Jackson, stylist Aisling Farinella, illustrator and fashion designer Kitty Moss, Ciara and Kim of Coldlilies, as well as the editors and writers from IMAGE. After speeches by Kate O’Dowd and editorial director Laura George, the guests were invited to watch a behind-the-scenes video shot by Naz Films on Super 8. A giant wedding cake made of Sheridan’s cheese was laid out on one side of the room (which had been styled just so by the ingenious Pearl & Godiva), accompanied by Freixnet bubbly and Marcel’s nibbles, all served by the glittering Queens of Neon who did much to enhance the atmosphere. As well as the libations, each guest received a free copy of the slick and pared-back new magazine fresh from the printers and a nifty wooden Claddagh ring. All in all a splendid party for a brave and beautiful new publication.
