Last minute gifts for design lovers

If you’ve left things until the last minute, fear not – head to one of these incredible Irish shops to pick up something they’ll treasure.

Róisín Lafferty Gallery

Set in a stunning space on Fitzwilliam Square, Róisín Lafferty Gallery is the place to pick up something out of the ordinary for a true design connoisseur. It opens Wednesday to Friday from 10am-5pm, and on Saturdays from 10am-2pm, and walking around this space is a treat in itself. You’ll also be spoilt for choice for unique pieces guaranteed to become modern heirlooms, from sculptural vases, to art, to one-off antique finds.

Or for something very special, look to their Bosca Collection of marble and natural stone plinths. This range of marble, onyx and natural quartzite plinths come in a range of heights and sizes, perfect for displaying art, vases, doubling as side tables, stools and everything in between. Each is a unique piece, and they are priced individually.

Form & Fable

Until December 21, you’ll find this pop-up of incredible Irish makers at Mary Lavin Place, Wilton Park, Dublin 2. There’s so much choice, whether you’re looking for a gift large or small. From cosy textiles, to handmade knives, to gorgeous ceramics, handmade books, and even scented candles, you can tick off anyone left on your list here with a meaningful, beautifully made gift.

Irish Design Shop

A favourite for a reason, Irish Design Shop on Dublin’s Drury Street is the perfect place to pick up gifts that will be treasured for years to come. They bring together some of the country’s best makers, and their range is full of everyday delights, including handmade ceramics, heritage-inspired throws, and even adorable Christmas decorations.

Jaqi

Dublin’s newest interiors store located in Charlemont Square, Jaqi is a curated collection of European design brands. Any design lover will appreciate a gift from this selection, whether it’s an accessory such as a candle holder, or a larger piece such as a side table.

Ecru Studios

Featuring both clothing and homeware including glassware, art, and cushions, this shop in the Westbury Mall is a place to pick up a unique gift for the discerning recipient. Founded by the ever-stylish husband and wife duo John and Karen Redmond, you know everything has been chosen with care.

Kopper Kreation

Known for their distinctive lighting collection, Kopper Kreation in The Chocolate Factory also has a range of homeware including coat hooks, candle holders, and vases that make excellent gifts. Many of their products are also made from upcycled materials, making them a sustainable choice.

Nordic Elements

On Blackrock’s main street, you’ll find Nordic Elements, a gorgeous collection of Scandi homeware and furniture. We especially love their selection of festive decorations, while I can attest that these tall, sculptural candles make a perfect gift.
