3 homes currently on the market that are right by the sea for €350,000 or under

For those that want to live by the sea, these three homes offer that possibility, without a huge budget.

Although some people think of the beach as a summertime destination, I’ve always been of the opinion that the Irish coastline in particular is at its most appealing in the other three seasons of the year.

A little wild, utterly changeable skies and crucially, quiet, their capricious beauty really comes into focus when it’s a little chillier outside.

Anyone who shares the same opinion would perhaps see the appeal of living within a stone’s throw of the coast, providing the opportunity to enjoy its beauty all year round.

If so, here are three properties currently on the market that promise just this, all for €350,000 and under.

18 Mariners Cove, Baltimore, West Cork, €350,000

Lovers of the Irish coastline will know that West Cork is a contender for the most beautiful stretch, and Baltimore is a particularly scenic spot. It also provides easy access to countless beaches in the area.

This three-bed terraced townhouse is bright and modern, with features including oak floors and a cast iron fireplace. It’s close to the centre of the village, and has a south west facing rear garden.

Rinn, Carraroe, Co Galway, €160,000

This three-bed bungalow is close to Carrere village, and is within 500m of the shoreline, close to Coral Strand. Although it needs an update, it offers a new owner the opportunity to put their own stamp on the home.

The home is situated on an 0.5 acre site with gardens to the front and rear, and comes with an adjoining site of 0.74 acres, so has potential to be extended as well.

Tigh na Mara, Rossmore, Durrus, Co Cork, €325,000

Another three-bed bungalow, this one is located on the scenic Sheep’s Head peninsula and sits on a mature garden of 0.4 acre. Its elevated position means that it has spectacular views over Dunmanus Bay and the Mizen Peninsula.

Inside, it is bright and well cared for, with a recently installed kitchen, and sea views from several rooms.
