Brown Thomas celebrates 10 years of CREATE, supporting Irish design

This week Brown Thomas launched CREATE, its annual offering of the best and most exciting Irish designers today.

Now in its 10th year, CREATE will showcase 31 designers across ready-to-wear, jewellery, handbags, millinery, childrenswear and interiors.

Brown Thomas Fashion Director, Shelly Corkery says: “This year is a very special year for CREATE as we mark our 10th anniversary. We’re so proud to have been able to support
emerging Irish talent over the past decade and to watch them flourish in their industries. Now
more than ever, it’s vital we continue to support the future of Irish fashion and we’re delighted once again to offer a platform to showcase their incredible talents.”

Richard Quinn, whose signature creations have graced the most prestigious red carpets and have
been worn by celebrities such as Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Kendall Jenner and Amal Clooney, will be returning to CREATE this year. His collection this year features dresses, tops, skirts and tees in striking daisy and rose prints.

">

RIXO has designed an exclusive capsule collection for this year’s CREATE and will feature feminine dresses, tops and skirts in prints such as florals and polka dots.

We’ve been admiring Sorcha O’Raghallaigh designs for some time now. With a love of handmade craft and ornamental detailing, her designs are grand poetic gestures that blur
parameters between art and fashion. Her designs have been worn by Beyoncé, Madonna, Maisie Williams, Kate Moss, Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue and Florence Welch.

After her hugely successful debut last year, Katie Ann McGuigan returns with an exquisite
collection drawing inspiration from Tom Wood’s photography of early 1980’s Liverpool.
McGuigan takes inspiration from both the aesthetic and values of international subcultures.

This year’s showcase welcomes a standout line-up from previous CREATE successes such as Lucy Nagle and Faye Dinsmore with their incredible knitwear designs. Stylist and illustrator, Sara O’Neill, returns with her label Éadach, a collection of limited edition bold and standout silk kimonos, dresses and scarves.  And Former CREATE designer Sarah Murphy returns with a stunning collection of ready-to-wear pieces.
