11 truly great pairs of sunglasses to embrace the good weather with

Any excuse for a new accessory

While the great outdoors is certainly giving us strong Leaving Cert weather vibes right now (too soon?), we Irish still do tend to get a bit ahead of ourselves when it comes to warm weather attire.

Spending an obscene amount of money on shorts, playsuits and floaty poolside kaftans is not exactly the smartest investment right now — let’s be honest, we’ll probably only have this level of heat for about 10 days total this summer.

But there is one piece in our wardrobe that can give us summer vibes at the slightest glimpse of sunshine, even if the wind underneath it is positively Baltic. The humble sunglasses.

The one piece that can instantly elevate an outfit to looking like you’re on a Californian roadtrip, when really, you’re doing very ordinary, mid-teen-weather things. Driving in 2 degrees but the sun comes out? Whack on your sunnies. Pretending to enjoy sunbathing out the back when really the wind is basically exfoliating your legs? Put on the sunnies, and no one will be any the wiser.

Sunglasses are glamour in an accessory, if you know how to pick ’em and wear ’em. And here are 11 of our favourites right now.
