Last Friday morning the Marker Hotel was buzzing with over 200 people enjoying an early morning coffee and breakfast treats, bracing themselves for a morning of inspirational and uplifting speeches from three incredible women: athlete turned foodie Derval O?Rourke, beauty blogger and model Pippa O’Connor and CEO of DEPFA bank Fiona Flannery.

We were off to a great start, upon entry everyone was greeted by a wonderful team from Boots No7 who gifted everyone with a No7 Protect & Perfect advanced serum, and to top it off there was a luxury seat gift for everyone in the audience which included a fantastic Skin Ceuticals -Retexturing Activator serum, healthy treats from Good4U, Sure Maximum protection deodorant and a gorgeous beauty product from Bourjois.

Derval O?Rourke was first up to the podium and spoke about her career as an Irish Olympian, the joys of motherhood and how she turned her love of cooking into a bestselling book. She discussed how keeping fit in a continual process but she always surrounds herself with inspiring people who fill her with excellent ideas and motivation. Pippa O’Connor was next and took us back to her modelling days and how she strived to pursue something new. Her love for beauty, fashion and make-up were her inspiration and opted for a career in digital media, with hardly any prior knowledge of the field. With help and guidance, she turned her passion into a business and Pippa.ie was born. Fiona Flannery, CEO of DEPA Bank Ireland spoke about her rise to female domination in the banking world and how passion, hunger and grit determination is key to achieving excellence.

With the morning’s proceedings complete, Melanie Morris announced that three lucky attendees had each won a €100 voucher for the Marker Hotel spa & wellness, and one attendee was fortunate to win a fabulous overnight stay for two including dinner at the Wineport Lodge & Hotel in Co. Westmeath courtesy of Irelands Blue Book. Finally, Boots Ireland bestowed a year’s worth on No7 Protect & Perfect Serum to one very happy attendee.
