New season scents, sequin skirts and chic interior additions are among the (many, many) items making up our summer wishlists. Here’s what else we’re shopping for this month.

This summer has a distinct feeling of freedom, with the kids being that little bit older. So my wishlist mostly consists of activities that for the last five years, were not really possible. First is singing and dancing my heart out to Chappell Roan and Hozier at Electric Picnic. Next is renting a camper van and getting lost down the winding roads of Kerry with my three boys. I’m also planning to do a two-day art course at the Enniskerry Schoolhouse and make the perfect piece for the wall above my bed. I would also like to spend lots of time in the garden growing flowers, visiting the sauna, and getting back to feeling strong again with reformer Pilates.

This month is my birthday and I am dying to treat myself to some new things! I really want to invest in some new fun pieces to add to my wardrobe and I’d love to get a new perfume! Right now, I have my eye on this gorgeous black two piece outfit from Marmala. I also adore every bag she creates, I just can’t decide which one to get. I also have my eye on this Jo Malone scent that I’d love to get too. It smells absolutely divine and I’m a big fan of the Jo Malone range. Finally, I adore this garter shirt from Ríon Hannora, it is absolutely incredible!

I’m a summer girl through and through. I love everything that comes with the season: bright, vibrant clothes, colourful interiors, and that golden, bronzed glow from a good beauty line-up. I try to only invest in timeless pieces I’ll wear for many summers to come, and these are a few I’ve got my eye on this year.
First up, the Dolce & Gabbana x Havaianas collab completely stole my heart. Some people might gasp at spending that much on flip-flops, but honestly, they’re so beautiful I couldn’t resist. I debated going for a faux fur pair, but ended up with these stunning floral D&G print instead.
I absolutely adore this sheer polka dot sequin skirt, super cute with flip-flops for a casual holiday look or dressed up with a blazer and heels for a night out. I’m going to make sure I get loads of wear out of it!
On the interior side, I love switching up my bedding with fresh summer tones. Penneys are absolutely killing it right now with their interiors. I picked up these baby blue striped pillows alongside some yellow bed sheets, and they’ve completely brightened up my room.

I’m getting very sentimental in my old age (27), and want to up my scrapbooking game over summer. I just picked up this little stamp set for a friend in Unbound in Cork, and think I might need to get them for myself too, along with this fun colourful ink pad set.
I have been living in my accumulation of mismatched jewellery for literal years now, and rarely add to what I’ve collected from markets, brought back from holidays, or inherited from my mother or grandmother. But I am feeling the urge to add some occasion pieces to my rotation for special events, and these silver drop pearl earrings from Pearl Oasis Studio are speaking to me.
I also really want to try these Squeezys Margaritas from Dublin Cocktail Lab, due in no small part to the gorgeous packaging, and can someone please tell me if these Speedcats are incredibly cool or just a bit ugly? My so-called boyfriend laughed when I showed him them, but I think he’s the problem here, not the unisex sneakers.

Top of my summer wish list this year is a pair of Birkenstock Boston Clogs. I know I am a couple of seasons behind with the trend but they are still taking up too much space in my brain. I can’t stop thinking about them. In fact I have been thinking about them since they became ‘trendy’ a few years ago and have bought numerous dupes but I think it’s time to invest in the real deal! My only dilemma now is what style to go for. Do I go for the Classic Taupe or the Studded Taupe? Decisions, decisions!

Pellador have collaborated with AVA to create this gorgeous jersey, so perfect for festival season. I’m loving how jerseys are being elevated this summer, and the pop of pink on this one is perfect to pair with a skirt and pair of sunnies for any upcoming outdoor gigs.
I’m so excited for Caroline O’Donoghue’s new book, Skipshock, to hit shelves. An easy fantasy romance is always the perfect beach read. I plan to take it with me when I go interrailing this summer (too perfect given the narrative takes place mainly on a train!).

When I’m working at home in summer, few things contribute to my wellbeing more than having many beverages at my disposal – sparkling water, kombucha, and iced matcha to name a few – and all require plenty of ice for optimal drinking. I’ve recently realised, however, that apparently I’m an ice snob, as I find one of my two current ice trays to make ice cubes that are simply too small. Which is why I’m eyeing up this one from Industry & Co that promises ludicrously large cubes (my words, not theirs), bringing me ever closer to peak hydration.
In other kitchen updates, I’m trying to talk myself out of buying these metal bowls from Zara Home, mainly because as a lover of bowls, I already have lots. However, I think they would be absolutely adorable for serving everything from desserts to little snacks of fruit – very old-school chic.

I’ve been on the hunt for a chic blazer I can wear to work and on nights out – this leather one from The Jacket Maker ticks both boxes and it’s customisable, which means I don’t have to stress about getting it to button without cinching (a common issue with bigger busts!). I’ve also had my eye on this gorgeous strawberry bag from Next. I’m trying to infuse my wardrobe with more colour, and this is such a fun and easy way to add vibrancy to any outfit.
For my upcoming summer holiday, I’ll be trying out POCO Beauty’s new gradual tanning lotion. It comes in a glowy, natural-looking shade (Deep Honey) and requires zero skill to apply. When I’m lying by the pool, I’ll also have the next instalment of Richard Osman’s The Thursday Murder Club series in hand. It comes out this September and I can’t wait! I’ve fallen in love with the characters in this series – if you’re looking for a feel-good read, I’d highly recommend it.

I would absolutely adore one of these pure silk sundresses from Stable of Ireland. Perfect poolside, or worn with a belt and strappy heels in the evening. Is there anything more luxurious than the feel of pure silk and a warm breeze on your skin?
For the perfect little bit of beach fun bling, I adore these Nach Mini Yellow Starfish Hoop Earrings from Costume Dublin, and because all I ever wear in the summer are Birkenstocks, I’m going for the Arizona big buckle patent numbers this year to pack a punch.
These oversized winged sunglasses with a bit of multi-colour pizazz, what’s not to love? And this Grosgrain, trimmed straw hat from & Other Stories! All the glow of Nuxe’s famous shimmery body oil but with SPF50 – for summer legs and arms, I love it.
Finally, I am saving Speak To Me of Home by Jeanine Cummins (author of American Dirt) for my poolside read in July.
