Six affordable solutions to dry skin this winter

Six affordable solutions to dry skin this winter

Cold conditions and harsh winter weather can cause uncomfortable dry skin. Switching between plunging temperatures and central heating can damage the barrier of the skin, causing dryness and flaking, it can flare up existing conditions like acne or eczema and leave you feeling itchy.

If your skin is in need of some repair and nourishment, we have six options below for your face, body, nails, hands and feet that are all pretty affordable.

Remember to be cautious with hot water in winter months too – it will deplete your skin of moisture, and make it red and blotchy. Make your showers and baths quick, try to avoid water on your face in the shower – try warm water with a face cloth instead – and follow up with your moisturiser as soon as you get out. Your skin will drink it up.

BODY

Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm

Formulated with only seven ingredients, it is free of fragrances, colourants and preservatives. Active ingredients, Panthenol and Bisabolol are clinically proven to support the skins functions, whereas Glycerin intensely moisturises and helps to strengthen skin’s barrier. It’s also a water-free ointment, so it creates the ideal environment to support the recovery process of dry, damaged or irritated skin. Available from Boots, €10.00.
