New Irish Craft For 2017

Each January, trade and media flock to Showcase – Ireland’s Creative Expo in the RDS seeking new products, while revisit existing collections from some of Ireland’s top designers and makers. Here’s our Insta-edit of some of the most exciting for 2017…

31 Chapel Lane

The Limerick-based linen house presented their first collection of wearables, which echo their tableware with a shared sense of timelessness that is suitable for all seasons.

Arran Street East

A new ‘Happy Day bathroom collection’ sees our ‘Best Tableware 2017’ award-winners bringing sturdy beauty to everyday acts of teeth brushing and hand washing.

At It Again!

Six of Ireland’s most famous writers – Swift, Beckett, Wilde, Yeats, Stoker and Joyce to be precise – and the places that inspired their work grace At it Again!’s new Irish Writer’s Collection.

Bog Standard

County Down’s Bog Standard announced their dreamy rebrand as Field Apothecary, which will be available in selected stockists from March.

Caulfield Country Boards

Already well known for their sustainably-sourced boards, the Meath company launched three wine racks, which hold 3, 6 or 10 bottles, depending on your thirst levels.

We love this darker take from Ruth Power, whose pretty pastels are instantly recognisable.

Siobhan Slacker has expanded her popular range of copper clocks to brass mirrors and trays, an easy way to add instant texture to any space.

The Handmade Soap Company

If you’ve visited a smart hotel (or two) in Ireland over the last few years, you’re sure to have smuggled a mini shampoo from these guys into your luggage. Their new hand creams are lush.

Our silky smooth Hand Creams are now available in handy 30g tubes. Feeling indecisive? Treat yourself to all three! #treatyoself

KaroArt

Too cute to eat off? We think so. Also intriguing from Karolina Grudniewska was her limited edition ‘The Big Bad Wolf’ plates.

Kathryn Davey

Bringing a distinctly Californian vibe to a cold day, we were feeling the summer warmth of Kathryn Davey’s breezy textiles.

Lainey K

Very much of the moment are Lainey K’s new cards for sad days and grateful days. Hopefully one sells better than the other.

McNutts

These new linen throws will be perfect for wrapping up when dusk fades on chilly summer nights.

Max Benjamin

For spring/summer, this scent collection inspired by the Amalfi Coast has us dreaming of sipping Aperol Spritz’s in the sunshine.

Stable

Imagine checking into a hotel and seeing one of these beautiful robes hanging in the wardrobe? An everyday luxury we simply adore.

Superfolk

Taking their most popular seaweed prints, the Superfolk two have created new ‘SEA’ note cards, perfect for nature walks and doodles. Certainly, too nice for work meetings.
