VENUE?Dubrovnik, Croatia?

PHOTOGRAPHS?Simple Tapestry

WORDS?Katie Phelan?

THEY ARE? Catherine Napier, Doctor and Liam O’Brien, Barrister?

THEY LIVE?In Newcastle Upon Tyne?

THEY MET?In court in 2012. Catherine had been called to give evidence in a case and spotted Liam across the room clad in wig and gown. She plucked up the courage to send him a card soon after, and the rest, as they say, is history…

THEIR WEDDING?Catherine and Liam’s nuptials in Croatia are the stuff our wedding dreams are made of. If you’re reminded of King’s Landing; of those opulent, sun-drenched scenes in Game of Thrones, that’s because this lucky duo got hitched in Dubrovnik ?? the historic citadel where a great deal of the hit show was filmed. With an impressive backdrop and exquisite weather guaranteed, the bride and groom were able to curate the event’s finer details, such as shamrock confetti, a boat trip, an alfresco lunch and a long table dinner on a stone terrace overhanging the Adriatic. Of course, Catherine and Liam didn’t do it all by themselves; even the smallest, most intimate weddings can create huge headaches without some professional help. The bride is quick to recommend enlisting a wedding planner, especially if you are getting married in another country. Dubrovnik local Ines Nani? helped smooth the way for Catherine and Liam’s perfect day. ?

THEIR TOP TIPS? Go with your gut instinct, especially when it comes to crucial stylistic decisions.

THEIR SUPER SUPPLIERS? Simple Tapestry. Brideen and Deci are consummate professionals in their field. Not only did the photographers capture all the romance and perfection onsite in Dubrovnik, they were attentive and available in the run up to the event as well. ?

THEIR BEST MOMENTS? Sailing with the wedding party to the reception after the ceremony, with a quick stop for ice-cream on the pier!
