Slogan nails, two-tone and more: nail the AW18 nail trends

Stand up for what you believe in with slogan nails, try berry tones and wavy strokes, and don’t be afraid of bright hues and powerful shades. This season is all about the details, and the nail trends are next level. Nail the AW18 nail trends with this guide to the season’s standout styles.

Not interested in flashy nail art? Try something minimal and sophisticated, like the two-tone nail art seen at Roberto Cavalli. Keep it autumnal and gradiate deep berry tones from light to dark on a natural nail shape.

Layer sugary pinks over a clear base as seen at Jeremy Scott, created by nail artist Miss Pop, who curved a nail brush into a macaroni shape to create an animal print. Don’t have those skills? Cut out your own stencils with tape, apply your chosen shade and peel the stickers off when nails are dry.

Statement nails are taking it up a notch. Keep your message powerful and say it loud with slogan nails. Trust Vivienne Westwood to get her message across however she can – her models wore nails stamped with strong statements, including “sex” and “XXXL”.

Is it too soon to say the C word? Deck the nails with shimmering metallics – it doesn’t need to be too showy. Shine on with champagne golds and moonlight silvers, as seen at Molly Goddard, Each x Other and Dennis Basso.

Make waves with minimal line drawings, as seen at Chromat. This requires a steady hand, or take this picture out and bring it to your nail technician. Start with a white base and keep it clean and chic with primary colours, curved from cuticle to nail tip. All shapes and sizes welcome.
