Dublin Airport: Family Reunions

family reunion at dublin airport

If there’s one place to go to discover the magic of Christmas, it’s the arrivals hall at Dublin Airport. Love Actually wasn’t exagerrating when it depicted scenes of family reunions and lovers reunited after months apart to spend the 25th together.

This morning, Dublin Airport have shared a heartwarming video that demonstrates just how special this time of year can be, and how heartbreaking it is to say goodbye to loved ones who live, quite literally, on the other side of the world.

Imagine being greeted as you get off the plane to a live band performance, just for you? That’s exactly what 26 year old Carmel O’Connor’s family had in store for her. But, much to her mother’s delight, Carmel had a surprise of her own.

Maybe somebody’s cutting onions nearby; it seems there’s something in our eye.

Have you a family reunion story to share?
