Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair has had a revamp, now it’s even better

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair has had a revamp, now it’s even better

The new Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair, €95, launches August 1. Don’t fret – Advanced Night Repair is different but better than ever

How much of the aging processes effect on the skin do you think comes down to genetics? Do you think you have a role in how your skin ages, or do you think that it’s predetermined?

Take it from Dr. Nadine Pernodet, Vice President of Skin Biology and BioActives at the Estée Lauder Companies. “Our epigenetics research has been inspired by the scientific understanding that only about 25% of the aging process is genetic and that nearly 75% is influenced by the environment, such as UV exposure, pollution and climate, and also by our lifestyle choices like diet and sleep patterns. This means that how our skin looks and visibly ages is largely within our control.”

So how you look in a few years is 75% down to you. I know, you don’t want another step of faff in your beauty routine, and you won’t even get to reap the benefits of it instantly, but if that’s not enough to get you to invest in a skincare routine (definitely, at the very least get using sunscreen every day), I don’t know what will.

When it comes to dedicated skincare fans, Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair is one of those products everyone can agree on. It’s got a devoted cult following that includes Kendall Jenner, Joan Smalls, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Arizona Muse, Camilla Rowe and lots of other people who make a career out of looking good. So what’s so good about it?

The launch of Night Repair in 1982 was and remains a key moment in the rich history of the Estée Lauder Companies. According to Stylight Insights, it’s the most popular skincare product in the world. A bottle is sold every six seconds. It’s famously oil-free, fragrance-free and patented until 2033. It holds two incredibly heavyweight titles in a world drowning in beauty launches: it is both the first serum to repair skin’s appearance during the night and the first skincare product to ever use hyaluronic acid.

Advanced Night Repair has been through many reiterations as skincare innovation has evolved over the years, which is why it’s been reformulated once again following a breakthrough discovery in epigenetics and you’ll have bear with me for a moment through the science; micro signalling molecules were discovered throughout the body, which have the ability to “communicate responses to external changes.” What does that mean for skincare? For the past seven years, Estée Lauder scientists have studied over 80 of these micro signalling molecules in skin cells to better understand how they relate to aging and found a specific micro signalling molecule that is essential to skin repair, helps the skin renew and boosts natural collagen.

So, the famed Chronolux technology introduced to the bestselling serum in 2009 has now been revamped following this breakthrough and contains a micro signalling molecule activator. This helps the skin’s natural renewal process so the skin repairs at night, encourages it to protect from damage, supports skin cells’ natural purification process, helps to increase your natural production of collagen and increases the renewal of fresh skin cells.

After one use, the skin is visibly brighter and the skin’s barrier is strengthened, with 72-hour hydration and 8-hour antioxidant protection. Over time, the results are even better; pores disappear, lines are reduced, skin texture is improved and the skin is firmer and glowier. It’s the same powerful serum you know and love, now with even better results, and in a pretty new recyclable glass bottle.
