5 Things You Can Do To Boost Your Morning Mood

5 Things You Can Do To Boost Your Morning Mood

Stretch

Exercising first thing in the morning can be difficult for even the most dedicated athlete, but stretching is an effective way to improve your posture, lessen aches and pains, increase blood flow around your body, increase your range of motion, helps to obtain higher levels of energy, and makes you feel good. Do I have to get up much earlier? No; 10-15 minutes per morning is more than sufficient and is a great way to reenergize; especially if you did not sleep well the night previous.

Hydrate

Similarly to stretching in the morning, replenishing your body with water can have similar positive effects on your body. While it’s a lot more appealing to boil the kettle instead, drinking tea or coffee doesn’t hydrate your body as sufficiently as pure water and contains salts, sugars, and caffeine. Adding a glass or two of water into your morning routine will help fight signs of fatigue, flush your body of bacteria, help to reduce skin problems, and reduce blood pressure. Try this: Add a slice of lemon to help flush your body of toxins.

Eat

Your mother was right; breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A lot of people can’t stomach food first thing in the morning; resulting in snacking throughout the latter part of the morning. Eating a healthy and nutritional meal in the morning, however, has many benefits and is an excellent addition to your routine. Breakfast gives you a more nutritionally complete diet (provided the breakfast you’re eating is healthy, of course), and improves concentration. Stuck for time? Prepare breakfast the night before such as a smoothie?(see here for tasty and quick recipes , or leave a bowl of oats steeping in water so that it cooks quicker in the morning.

Walk

Do you really need to take the bus today? Where possible, it’s alway good to walk to work. Exercising in the morning will help you to enhance your metabolism, and improve your physical and mental wellbeing. It also gives you absolute bragging rights to say ?it’s only 8:50 am and I’ve already worked out?, and you’ll feel great after the explosion of happy endorphins. Winning.

Think Positive

So you missed your alarm, you don’t have time for breakfast, you missed your bus, and you NEED coffee in your system. Don’t panic – there’s still a silver lining on the horizon. Having a positive mindset in the morning can pave the way for how the rest of your day will go. The laws of attraction say that positive attracts positive, so thinking positive can have a profound difference on your mood. Not feeling great after a lousy night’s sleep? Tell yourself two positive things that you will achieve throughout the day, or say two positive thing out loud to yourself such as “today will be a good day because it’s not raining’, or “I will eat one healthy meal today and feel great after it”.
