During lockdown I decided that I was going to invest in a really good pair of trainers. Spending so much time at home meant that I had plenty of time to peruse the internet; online shopping was a sort of addictive high I couldn’t get enough of back then.
Most of my friends invested in newfangled skincare gadgets or comfy loungewear co-ords… I went straight to footwear. Truth be told, my feet were in desperate need of some TLC. I’ll save you the graphic details, but I had pretty much spent the guts of one full year living in Doc Martens which had inevitably taken its toll. Yes, they made me look much cooler than I actually am but they’re not necessarily the best walking shoes. And thus began my hunt to find a comfortable but still relatively stylish pair of trainers. If that meant spending a bit more, then so be it.
My search led me to many corners of the internet, each proclaiming ‘these trainers are the holy grail of footwear’, but ultimately I decided to follow Emma Louise Connolly’s advice and splurged on a pair of Pumas – one of my best purchases to date.
Below are some of the trending trainers the internet is loving right now.
