These days it seems you’re way down the hipster list if you don’t have moving images to support your collection each season. And, the fashion film’s not just for emerging designers (or arbiters of cool) who don’t have the spends to produce impressive catwalk shows – even the biggest fashion names are using them as a vehicle to innovate. Truth be told, some of them are more about rambling narratives than fashion. And like all movies, they run the gamut from boring to ground-breaking. Here’s my top five of the best spring films. Turn up your speakers and enjoy.
Kenzo, Electric Jungle, directed by Mat Maitland
Miu Miu The Door, directed by Ava DuVernay
Michael Kors, directed by Poppy de Villeneuve
Georgina Hardinge for River Island, directed by Alex Turvey
Lanvin Summer 2013, directed by Steven Meisel
