Despite her young age, Lily Rose Depp has reached style icon status already. Whether she’s rocking an LBD or a cardi, the Chanel model and muse always does it with panache. Last month she wore this gorgeous black ruffled Chanel dress to the WWD Honors and demonstrated a masterclass in how to look chic and sexy in this classic wardrobe staple.
Depp is much too sophisticated to expose her cleavage. Instead she’s created a new erogenous zone – the side boob. The cleverly cut neckline of this dress appears demure from the front, but as she angles her body to the side, there’s a discreet but unmistakable glimpse of boob. It’s sexy but not flashy and definitely not gratuitous. The ruffled tiers that hang from the drop waist give this dress a hint of girlishness, which balances its sexiness beautifully.
“My first memory of wearing @chanelofficial was probably when I was still in diapers, going into my mom’s closet and picking out her Chanel heels and her dresses and stuff, even though I was swimming in them,” @lilyrose_depp said Tuesday evening, from @thepierreny. Dressed in the brand, she was out to support @karllagerfeld as he received the John B. Fairchild Honor at the WWD Honors event. #wwdsummits #wwdeye (?: @clint_spaulding)
Depp’s choice of hair and make-up is, as usual, flawless. The cat-eye liner emphasises her exquisite cheekbones beautifully and makes her feline eyes pop, while the sleek pony tail suggests utter confidence (Depp feels no need to hide behind her hair as some women do). Statement chandelier earrings are the young model’s only adornment, and they add just the right amount of embellishment, injecting interest without detracting from her stunning dress.
If you thought an LBD was a tired option for the party season, think again. Depp has brought this classic right back up to date.
