You need to check out this Irish-owned, female-led fashion pop-up on Exchequer Street

You need to check out this Irish-owned, female-led fashion pop-up on Exchequer Street

The festive pop-up will host a slew of small Irish-owned and female-led brands too, making it the perfect spot for you to support local businesses this Christmas.

Though the next few weeks look a little uncertain, we’re all still holding out hope that Christmas will be as close to normal as possible this year. This means that the stockings will be hung by the chimney with care and visions of sugar plums, glasses of prosecco, and overflowing cheese boards will be dancing around our heads from now until December 25th.

As the oft-dubbed “silly season” (don’t worry, I’ll use that phrase sparingly), the style stakes always amp up that little bit more in the run-up to Christmas. One of the busiest times of the year in terms of socialising, it’s likely to be even more so this year as we all finally get round to scheduling those long-overdue catch-ups we’ve been promising to arrange for months now. In other words, let the outfit planning commence.

Well, good news on that front as new fashion rental company on the block, Greens Are Good For You, is organising a month-long pop-up to help you impress with your festive wardrobe. Enlisting the help of 10 other small, Irish-owned, and female-led brands especially for the event, it will all take place at 32 Exchequer Street from December 2.

What can you expect? In a word; fabulousness. Most everyone will be kept happy with the offering which will include everything from fun statement jewellery courtesy of Gabsluk, to gorgeous vintage pieces sourced by rêverie and feel good sustainable knitwear from Style Ignite Studio (who will showcase their new A/W 2021 collection inspired by local flora and fauna there too).

The full list of those who will be at the pop-up is as follows:

  • To Dye For by Johanna Dooley
  • Cliodhna Doherty Art
  • Aisling Kavanagh Design
  • Lia Cowan Design
  • Style Ignite Studios
  • CME Candles
  • Gabsluk
  • Greens Are Good For You
  • Holly Makes
  • Barbara Bennett footwear
  • The Body Band Co
  • Ethos CBD

For many of the above designers, this is their first opportunity to have their wares showcased at an actual bricks and mortar location so safe to say they’re all thoroughly excited to meet customers in person. “This is a wonderful example of young female founders and friends coming together to create something,” stylist and creative director for rêverie, Katie-Ruby Robinson, told me.

With very few occasions to really dress up for over the past year and a bit, we’ll be taking any opportunity to break out the sparkles and now that The Late Late Toy Show is over us, Christmas can truly begin. Gifted By Greens will run for the month of December, with the pop-up officially opening to the public on December 2 (closed Christmas Day). Opening hours are 11 am to 7 pm Monday to Saturday and 12 pm to 5 pm on Sundays.
