Friday Fashion Fix: Five Great Pairs of Trainers

Friday Fashion Fix: Five Great Pairs of Trainers

At weekends, I rarely wear anything other than trainers.?A white leather pair from H&M for walking my dog and generally pottering around, pink cushion-soled Nike’s for running, and a more sophisticated,?embellished pair from Converse?for evenings. This is the best thing about this once-derided form of footwear – they’ll literally take you from day to night with a little bit of smart’styling. Here are five pairs of trainers?I’d like to add to my collection.

These embellished sneakers are fabulous. The earthy mustard colour and burgundy embellishment set just the right colour tone for autumn. They’ll look fabulous with smart trousers, or a midi skirt for a little relaxed glamour.

Jewel sneakers, €125 at uterque.com

I love the softly textured surface of these trainers. I’ll be swapping my?H&M whites for these once?autumn arrives and wearing them with tactile grey socks (maybe in cashmere!) and cropped trousers.

Gazelle trainers, Adidas, €110 at & Other Stories

Burgundy is a great colour around which to anchor your new-season wardrobe. It’s flattering to Irish skin tones and works beautifully with other earthy autumnal shades. I’m drawn to the?contrasting textures?here, and the fabulous price.

Contrast sneakers, €39.95 at Zara

How glamorous are these trainers? And they have a platform to lengthen your legs and life your spirits. Gorgeous!

Knotted metallic slip on sneaker, No. 21, €645 at net-a-porter

These subtle metallic trainers will work really well when you want to add a bit of sparkle?to your weekend wear. I like the mix of sequins at the front and metallic croc at the heel.
