Chanel’s Salzburg Show Was Stunning

The stunning tableaux of Salzburg, recently crowned model of the year Cara Delevingne, and the magic touch of Karl Lagerfeld? Well, the aesthetic outlook of the new Chanel collection was never in any doubt.

Yesterday the 18th century Schloss Leopoldskron hosted the unvieling of the?Paris-Salzburg?M?tiers d?Art collection and the resulting imagery and outfits might make you weep with beauty. The whole point of the annual M?tiers d?Art show is to shine a light on the best craftspeople working in ateliers around the worlds. This year Cara Delevingne, who was declared Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards just days ago, was the face of the collection. She’s been rather busy on the Chanel front, having just starred in their recent short movie wherein she sang with Pharrell and channelled the renowned Austrian Empress, Sisi.

For this collection Lagerfeld took the iconic hues of Chanel and married signature black and navy dresses and coats with some alpine sensibilities. Think layers, responsible fabrics and drindls. On paper not so Chanel. On an informal runway it was something entirely unexpected, and still retained the glamourous beauty of the French house.

Anyone for some out-of-our-budget skiing?
