5 Ways To Wear Stripes At Work

Stripes have been updated from Breton to boardroom. Typically the cheery print is associated with laid-back nautical style but these rigid rules no longer apply. Introduce some linear love to your work wear wardrobe for an instant style refresh. Here are five easy ways to style stripes for your 9-5.

1. Shirt

A striped shirt at work is a simple way to pull off the androgynous look. Pair those pinstripes with some tapered trousers and add some statement heels for ultimate cool-girl points.

2. Skirt

Wearing a striped skirt to work is a great way to stand out without going over the top. The print can be transformed into flowing feminine fashion statement when worn as a skirt.

3. Trousers

Vertically striped trousers can do wonders for those of us who are, let’s say, vertically challenged (myself included). It’s never been easier to get the illusion of supermodel legs. Treat your stripes as a neutral for endless outfit options.

4. Dress

Okay, so maybe keep the striped shirtdress for the beach, but don’t rule out a striped dress for the office. A classic wrap dress with stripes can look effortlessly chic. Keep accessories minimal and you’ll be good to go.

5. All Out Stripes

Head to toe stripes can be an intimidating look to pull off but we promise it can look impressively stylish. Try to avoid looking like The Hamburglar by choosing striped separates that have either opposing stripes, different thicknesses or varying colours. Thank us later.
