Casual work outfits to elevate your current office attire

Looking to upgrade your workwear wardrobe but don't know where to start? We have plenty of style inspiration on that front.

A trench coat

The perfect throw-over-anything jacket, a good trench coat will make you look like you have it all together… even if that’s just a ruse. Pair with tailored trousers and runners or a skirt and loafers, the options are endless. Monikh is the queen of cool when it comes to laidback tailoring, so definitely have a comb through her Instagram if you’re in need of further inspiration.

A matching suit

Nothing says ‘I own 51 per cent of this company’ quite like a matching power suit. Suits don’t need to have to be stuffy though and there are plenty of ways to modernise the look and make it feel more you. Take a leaf out of Olivia Palermo’s style book and opt for a skirt suit instead, or better yet pick one up in a bold statement colour for extra oomph. The addition of a collared shirt in a slightly different shade of green is a nice touch… she never misses, does she?!

A black dress

You really can’t go wrong with a black dress no matter the occasion, so investing in one that you feel comfortable in guarantees you’ll get plenty of wear out of it. Longer hemlines and looser fitting fabrics usually work best for office wear, and you can glam the look up with some glitzy jewellery, a designer belt or some cool shoes.

A denim boiler suit

A boiler suit is arguably one of the easiest things to put on in the morning as it essentially does all the work for you – no forward planning is needed, making them the perfect choice if you overslept, are in a rush or just really hate the morning struggle to get out the door. Denim is perennially stylish and can be worn outside the office too, which is always a bonus.

A slightly oversized blazer

A slightly oversized blazer can elevate even the drabbest of outfits and make it feel more office appropriate. Keep the silhouette loose and oversized but still structured for the perfect balance of casual and professional. Elsa Hosk nails this trend with the addition of a statement tee and her favourite denim.
