The beauty heroes IMAGE staff buy again and again

The beauty heroes IMAGE staff buy again and again

The true tell-tale sign of a must-have beauty product, a veritable cult hero, is its repeat-buy possibilities. Sure, you might love that body lotion – but would you go out of your way to buy it again? Will you stock up on it? Or would you settle for whatever was on sale the next time you need to buy body lotion? For the record, my hero body lotions are Palmers Cocoa Butter, €4.99 and Avène Cold Cream Body Lotion, €22.99. If you can’t live without it, it’s a hero. I pestered the IMAGE staff for their hero beauty repeat buys.

La Mer Lip Balm, €60

La Mer lip balm. At €60, it’s an extravagant little pot, but I like to think it’s saving me a fortune on fillers. Plus, if I’m going on a cost-per-wear basis (and I am) it pays for itself. Almost.
Biologique Recherche P50 – I started using this while doing a review of the brand and got hooked. It’s a toner and exfoliator in one, and has worked miracles on rebalancing my skin. It’s hands down the single best thing I use on my face. – Rosaleen McMeel, Editor and Beauty Director, IMAGE Magazine
Embryolisse creme is a French pharmacy must have. It’s a cream, make-up base, sensitive skin saviour and shave cream if you have really sensitive skin, now stocked in Boots. I love
Fredric Malle’s the whole range of perfume but in particular the collaboration with Dries Van Noten – my dream perfume! – Olga Duffy, Account Manager, IMAGE Interiors and Living

MAC Face and Body Foundation, €32

MAC Face and Body Foundation, €32,  it gives a nice natural-looking coverage that doesn’t make me feel totally caked during the day, and lasts all throughout the night too! – Geraldine Carton, Digital Content Creator, IMAGE.ie

Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, €49

Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, €49, – the hint is in the name. It goes on like silk, it has the perfect coverage and it gives your skin a little glow.  – Rachel Gallivan, Head of Branded Content, IMAGE Publications

Clinique Take The Day Off Balm Cleanser, €29

Mine is Armani Luminous Silk too! Another is Clinique Take The Day Off Balm Cleanser, €29. It is perfect for a first cleanse and takes off the most stubborn makeup. It’s also non-greasy and doesn’t irritate my eyes. – Dominique McMullan, Digital Editor, IMAGE.ie
Ditto to the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm – love that stuff and have gotten numerous friends and family hooked on it (shout out to the IMAGE event with Sali Hughes for getting me on to it). Also love the Vichy Ideal Soleil Mattifying Face Dry Touch Sun Cream SPF50, €15. Dries super fast, doesn’t leave a sticky residue and my face isn’t shiny or ghost-like afterwards. Perfect for everyday sunscreen under makeup. – Lauren Heskin, Deputy Editor, IMAGE Interiors & Living and Garden Heaven

Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Brighten Skin Renew Cleansing Oil, €14.99

Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Brighten Skin Renew Cleansing Oil, €14.99. It gets rid of all traces of makeup and dirt in seconds and smells absolutely divine. Won’t break the bank either! – Niamh Richardson, Art Director, Cara Magazine
“Since I was 16 years old, Rimmel Instant Tan, €8.49. It’s the best on the market and I am a self-confessed tan addict so have tried them all!” – Ciara Cosgrove, Operations Director, IMAGE Publications
Wet ‘n’ Wild liquid eyeliner, €2. A cat eye is my go-to when I do wear make-up, and this is the best, even compared to high-end brands. Easiest applicator, fastest drying, darkest black and doesn’t smudge. And it’s cheap. – Erin Lindsay, Digital Content Creator, IMAGE.ie
Chanel No5 Velvet Body Cream, €77, it’s divine; lasts all day and night, no need for perfume and your skin is glowing after. – Caroline Bresnan, Commercial Director, IMAGE Publications
I’m a Mary Kay girl through and through, but outside of that… I really loved the Clinique All About Eyes Serum but I THINK it’s been discontinued (or maybe they’re launching something new?) so I’ve been using the Clinique Men’s Anti-Fatigue Eye Gel, €30, ever since the ladies’ version stopped being stocked and it’s LITERALLY the same product repackaged for the fellas. It wakes me up, de-puffs, feels lovely, and I probably only need to buy two a year. I use it in the morning and use Mary K eye cream at night. – Meg Walker, Managing Editor, IMAGE Magazine
Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint, €39, has the perfect coverage for during the day for oily skin and has a little SPF in it as well. – Michelle Harrison, Account Manager, IMAGE Magazine and IMAGE.ie
My go-to nude/everyday lipstick shade (for years now) is MAC Satin lipstick in Faux, €20. It’s absolutely perfect for every occasion! – Sophie Teyssier, Social Media Manager, IMAGE.ie
 Miss Dior Cherie

Miss Dior Cherie – I’ve been using this perfume since I was 12! – Ellen Bird, Editorial Assistant, IMAGE Magazine

Rimmel GlamEyes Eyeliner, €7.29

Rimmel GlamEyes Eyeliner, €7.29, I have been using it religiously since I was 16 as it is the best for doing cat eyes. I literally cannot use any other eyeliner! – Hannah Hillyer, Office Manager, IMAGE Publications

MAC Strobe Cream, €34

MAC Strobe Cream forever. – Niamh O’Donoghue, Digital Leader, IMAGE.ie

First Aid Beauty Hello Fab Coconut Primer, €24.95

First Aid Beauty Hello Fab Coconut Primer is a brilliant primer that gives you a radiant glow as well as hydrating your skin all day! I also love the classic Chloe perfume – I still love the smell 10 years on from my first bottle! – Luise O’Dwyer, Events and Communications Assistant, IMAGE Publications

Nivea In-Shower moisturiser, €4.79

Chloe Eau de Parfum has been my perfume since 2008.  Also I swear by Nivea in-shower moisturiser. – Laura Kenny, Senior Designer, IMAGE Magazine

Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille, 50ml, €188

I’m a fragrance ‘ho – currently being promiscuous with Aesop’s Marrakech Intense, Le Labo’s Santal 33, Jo Brown Oriental Note and Waters + Wild’s Rose & Oud – but I always, always return into the loving, sensual arms of Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille. It lingers on the skin forever thank to its oil base and, given that I don’t wear it every day, I have been known to stretch out a 50ml bottle for 18 months, making it well worth the cost-per-wear. – Lucy White, Editor, CARA Magazine
Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream – I buy 3 at a time as I use it so much! And Pommade Divine is an amazing skincare balm. – Sarah Murphy, Events Manager, IMAGE Publications
