Before his death, Karl Lagerfeld collaborated with the brand on a Parisian ‘rock-chic’ inspired make-up collection.
This September, one of Karl Lagerfeld’s many final projects before his death will land; a make-up collaboration with L’Oréal Paris. While the products remain under wraps, we know to expect “rock-chic style, fused with a sense of Parisian elegance.”
We’re hoping this means some red lipsticks. The prices are also currently unrevealed but there’s no doubt that with the quality of L’Oréal Paris’ new formulations coupled with their affordable prices, making Karl Lagerfeld creations accessible to the masses will guarantee a sold-out collection.
“This line of make-up truly reflects the Karl Lagerfeld brand universe and what Karl loved in make-up – he often used eyeshadows as colours in his sketches,“ said Caroline Lebar, Head of Image and Communication at Maison Karl Lagerfeld. “L’Oréal Paris has an inclusive message of beauty for all. Karl liked it when a collaboration resonated with his brand and would make a real impact to many people.”
The campaign will be inspired by Karl Lagerfeld’s favourite quotes and mantras, such as “Embrace the present and invent the future.”
“All of our fashion designer collaborations are an honor, but this one is particularly meaningful,” said Délphine Viguier-Hovasse, global brand president of L’Oréal Paris. “While Karl upturned the hierarchy of the landscape to democratize fashion, L’Oréal Paris is committed to making beauty according to women’s own rules and desires. We look forward to sharing with the world the make-up born from this creative connection: Karl Lagerfeld’s rock-chic and L’Oréal Paris’s empowered vision of beauty”.
