Simone Rocha

By Bill O'Sullivan
01st Oct 2013

She’s as close as we get to fashion royalty in this country, growing up around the ‘seasons? and pace that define a life in fashion as they did for her father, John Rocha. Yet, Simone Rocha retains a down-to-earth, non-It girl chic that we rate highly. She’s part of a new generation of designers who still have a connection with their roots in Art College, who enjoy the simple creative pleasure of ‘making things? as Simone tells IMAGE magazine’s editor, Melanie Morris. Her A/W 13 collection has already trickled down to the high-street and become one of the main trends of the season, whilst her S/S 14 collection is strong enough to have bagged a unique colour in that extra-palatable pink we’ve been seeing. Her talent combined with an insider’s advantage may have got her noticed in the first place, but her own originality and vision have yielded designs strong enough to have already given her label a signature look. With her street-smart and laid-back cool she’s set the bar high for Irish designers destined to walk in her foot-steps.
