This quaint stone cottage near Glendalough is on the market for €245,000

A quaint home tucked away in Blessington, Co Wicklow, Hubbard’s Cottage is a rural sanctuary perfect for those in search of a quieter, more relaxed pace of life.

Dating back to the 1800s, this two-bedroom property has been well maintained by its current owners and was extensively restored in recent years. Accommodation comprises of a large and bright living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and two large double bedrooms at either end of the cottage.

Rustic stone steps lead up to the front door of Hubbard’s Cottage, which opens into a large open-plan room with a stone feature wall and warm wooden flooring. Much of the interior has been painted white, making the inside appear bright and spacious and allowing the other decor to shine.

A solid fuel stove and a falling table – one of only a few left in Ireland in an inhabited dwelling – are amongst the highlights in this room. Further inside is the kitchen which has ample counter space and storage in the form of fitted presses and open shelving along the walls. Other features include a large Belfast sink, a hob/oven, a dishwasher, a microwave and a small fridge.

The master bedroom has a double bed while the second bedroom has two twin beds. The main family bathroom has been fitted with an electric shower.

To the rear of the property is a handsome stone shed for the oil burner with slatted roof and a large garden – the ideal space for a vegetable patch or to plant wildflowers. Another decent-sized garden can be found to the front of the cottage.

Idyllically located between Blessington Lakes and the monastic history of Glendalough, the property is surrounded by natural beauty with stunning woodland and mountain trails at every turn.

The property is heated with oil-fired central heating. It also has its own well water supply, septic tank and excellent broadband via satellite and NBI (National Broadband Ireland) connection in the garden.

Viewing of this property is by appointment and can be arranged through Robert Heather. On sale through Forbes Property, this property is currently on the market for €245,000. You can take a closer look inside the beautiful Hubbard’s Cottage in our gallery below.
