Taylor Swift has just announced she’s dropping ANOTHER album tonight

Taylor Swift has just announced she’s dropping ANOTHER album tonight

“To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs,” says the singer-songwriter of her upcoming ninth album, entitled “evermore”.

While most of us slobbed around in our pyjamas and failed miserably at baking sourdough this year, it seems Taylor Swift has been busy. Very busy in fact. Just a few months after releasing a surprise eight album folklore, she’s now just revealed she’s ready to drop another one.

“I’ve never done this before,” the singer-songwriter remarked on her Instagram post announcing the new album, titled evermore. “In the past I’ve always treated albums as one-off eras and moved onto planning the next one after an album was released.” This time however we’ve only been soaking up the glories of folklore since July and it recently swept the 2021 Grammy nominations with a total of six, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for “cardigan.”

Announcing the drop just a few days short of her 31st birthday on December 13, Swift said that the new album will be a sister record to folklore. “I loved the escapism I found in these imaginary/not imaginary tales. I loved the ways you welcomed the dreamscapes and tragedies and epic tales of love lost and found into your lives. So I just kept writing them.”

So what do we know?

The album will have 15 songs on it and two bonus tracks and has been written and produced by the same team who worked on folklore, Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff, WB, and Justin Vernon alongside Swift. Longtime pals of Swift, Haim will feature on a song titled “no body , no crime”, while The National and Bon Iver pop up on two others. Fans will know that Bon Iver has already collaborated on “exile”, a song written by Swift and her boyfriend, Joe Alwyn for folklore.

The album is due to land at 5am Irish time tomorrow morning, along with a video for the first single, “willow”.
