The interiors and design showcase of the year is back for a third year running, as House takes over Dublin’s RDS from May 25-27. Whether you're planning a home overhaul or want to treat your interiors to simple updates, then consider our A-Z of House 2018.
A is for Art Loft. Art can completely transform a room and a number of high-caliber Irish artists will be showcasing their work, including Orla Walsh, David Coyne and Ruthie Ashenhurst.
B is for Bannon, as in Dermot Bannon. The hugely popular architect and Room to Improve presenter will be on hand over the weekend giving visitors his invaluable insight into all things architecture, and how to make the most of your home.
Cis for Clinic. The Design Clinic to be exact. Well-known members of The Interiors Association will be presenting a wide range of topics on stage over the weekend and you can also have some invaluable one-to-one time with one of their designers. Booking ahead is advised.
D is for Design. The best of Irish furniture design, interior design, creative design, eclectic design and museum quality design will all be on display.
Eis for Exhibitors. Over 160 leading creative visionaries and design experts will share their inspiration and expertise. Meet the team behind Waterford Stanley, Michael Farrell Kitchens, Zelouf+Bell, Halo Tiles and interior designers Egan Interiors, Pollard Design and Hedgeroe Home, to name but a few.
F is for Fleetwood Paints who are not only sponsoring the Inspiration Stage, but will have a team of colour experts and interior designers on hand for attendees to quiz on the latest innovations and colour schemes.
Gis for Glamorous Interiors, which abound at House. Think whites, blush pinks, metallics, mirrors and all things luxe.
His for Home Décor Trends. Stay ahead of the curve, whether you're taking inspiration from the tropics, the zoo, the sea or botanics, our exhibitors and designers will help guide you in the right direction.
I is for the Inspiration Stage. Household names and key industry influencers will be take to the stage offering hands on advice and invaluable design insights. A Q&A session will take place after each talk and visitors can meet the interior designers and discuss their projects.
J is for Jo Hamilton, one of the key speakers, who is bringing her international experience to the RDS for a masterclass in using colour.
K is for Kitchens. A combination of style and function make for the best cook space, and premium kitchen companies including Michael Farrell and Enigma Design will be there to fulfil your kitchen dreams.
Lis for Luxurious Living. Everything on site will provide luxe inspiration to up the style stakes in your home.
M is for Minimalist, modern, moody, metallic and masculine… whatever your personal aesthetic is, you'll find matching suppliers and craftspeople at House 2018.
N is for New Exhibitors for 2018, which include Woo Design, Lost Weekend, Browsers Interiors, Enigma Design and Harrington Woodworks.
Ois for Original Ideas. Your home, your unique space. Get your creative cogs turning with an inspirational visit to the RDS.
P is for Paint. The best companies will be showcasing their gorgeous paint palettes including Fleetwood Paints, Annie Sloan Paints, Moda created by Dulux and Little Greene Paints.
Q is for Quality Craftsmanship. There is a wealth of stunning bespoke furniture and lighting from a wide variety of talented craftspeople working in Ireland today, including Copper Fish Studio, Dunleavy Bespoke and Brendan Lawless, who all will be showcasing.
R is for Roisin Lafferty. Roisin has earned enormous respect and recognition across the construction and interiors industry for her contribution to design at KLD. Her eclectic style and warm charm always draws a crowd.
S is for Suzie McAdam who is a welcome new addition to both the Inspiration Stage and the Trend Talks Stage. Suzie specialises in interior architecture and design services, and uses a sophisticated palette of colours and materials to create effortlessly beautiful and considered spaces.
Tis for Trend Talks Stage. New to house 2018, the Trend Talks Stage will see our trend forecasters giving visitors insights into the interior trends to take you through 2018 and beyond. Speakers include Suzie McAdam, Emily Maher of Lost Weekend, Sinead and Niamh of The Interiors Project and Claire Price and Elaine Regan of House Edit.
U is for the Upcycling Area. Another new element to this years’ show is the Upcycling Area, which will be hosted by Gerard Griffin of the Rediscovery Centre, alongside Annie Sloan. Gerard will be demonstrating how to blend the old and new, and how to new life to old or unwanted furniture, while Annie will be showcasing her gorgeous paints and how they can transform wooden furniture.
V is for Visitors, who come in their thousands to the event each year. Ensure you buy your tickets in advance.
W is for Well Appointed. If you’re looking for exceptional quality and style, House is the place to be.
X is for Xtras. Yes, we've cheated a little on the X– everyone does – but there really is so much else on offer during house. Book in for Afternoon Tea or sip some bubbles while you soak up the atmosphere, and ponder how you’re going to make design changes to your home.
Y is for Year of Design. If every year you make a promise to redesign your home or even a room, then don’t let 2018 go past. No matter what your budget, you can make a difference and there’s plenty of inspiration and hands on help for you at House.
Z is for Zelouf+Bell. Susan Zelouf and Michael Bell will bring their museum quality furniture to the RDS, and there is always something interesting and new to see.
