The Bar You Need To Visit – You Provide The Drink And They Create The Cocktails!
24th Nov 2017
Bring Your Own Cocktail Bar Drop Dead Twice just celebrated their first birthday last month. In their first year, they have introduced a new concept to Dublin- mixology meets BYOB.
HOW IT WORKS
You Bring It
Your favourite bottle of spirit, that is. The size of said booze depends on how long you are booked in for. Two-hour sessions are usually a naggin (200ml) and three hours are a shoulder (350ml). With a two hour/naggin session you would receive four cocktails and a shoulder/three-hour session, you can expect six to seven cocktails. Also, if after your session you have alcohol left, bring it with you as it belongs to you!
They Mix It
A member of their very talented bar team will talk you through what you have brought, what you like and what you dislike. This will help them create a selection of delicious bespoke cocktails drawing on their expertise and a wide range of fresh and homemade ingredients. I have yet to have a cocktail here I didn’t like, although a friend wasn’t crazy on one cocktail they had as it was a bit spicy – Q the bar person (the amazing Amy) mixing up said cocktail with extra ingredients and turning it onto 3 shots for us to enjoy. No wasting a good cocktail!
You Love It
You pay the lovely Kelly (she’s the boss lady with the colourful hair) and that’s it! No further need for your purse or queuing at the bar or trying desperately to catch the bartender’s eye. You just sit back and enjoy the craic with your friends while the very talented team make cocktails especially for you.
THE TAP ROOM @ DROP DEAD TWICE
Drop Dead Twice – The Taproom opened their doors in October to mark DDT’s 1 year anniversary. This space is all about the beer, craft beers from all around the world (but you can also indulge in some unique wines and spirits if the beer becomes too much). At Sunday “Yappy Hour” four-legged, furry friends are also welcome from 4-7pm and “Barktender” Chuck will be on hand with doggy treats.
