The women who shaped 2018: The Spill’s top six

The women who shaped 2018: The Spill’s top six

Have you ever had one of those days that screamed for a wine and chats sesh with your girlfriends? Enter Image.ie’s podcast, The Spill. The Spill is hosted by our very own self-proclaimed agony aunts Sophie White and Rhona McAuliffe. With a mix of discussion on current affairs, arts and culture and some healthy advice to our listeners, it’s the best place to unwind and deliberate the issues affecting Irish women today.

It’s been an incredible year for women in 2018. From every area in every walk of life, women around the world are standing up to be counted, and changing the rules when it comes to making their mark. While IMAGE is celebrating the amazing women of 2018 in our own way with our Women of the Year nominations, Sophie and Rhona wanted to make their own contribution to the conversation with their six women who shaped the year.

Both of our hosts were tasked with making a list of women who had blazed a trail around the world in 2018, and it proved much more difficult than expected (there are literally thousands of women who deserve a mention). But we think you’ll really enjoy the final tally of the women that Sophie, Rhona and every other woman has looked up to this year.

In this week’s Hit Me Up, (which, due to the length of our Women of 2018 episode, is featured in a separate recording), deals with a common problem for many marriages — a loss of lustful attraction. Our writer from Dublin has been with her partner for over eight years now, and they have a loving relationship in every sense except sexual. Due to stresses and tensions early on in their relationship, this woman feels that the attraction between them is gone, and has found herself fantasizing about other men — every other man, in fact, but her partner. Is this a solvable problem, or one that signals the end of the relationship?

This week’s new episode, and all the others you might have missed, are available here:
