What’s On: Your IMAGE Guide to This Week’s Events

Our guide to the events on our radar for this weekend and the coming week ahead. Happy weekend from IMAGE!

Today:

Head to Elbow at the 3Arena

For some insane reason, there are still tickets available for the amazing Elbow’s return to the 3Arena tonight at 6:30 pm. The band are known for their anthem-filled records and their most recent album Little Fictions showed a marked return to their early euphoric sound and hits like the joyous One Day Like This. Tickets are €59.50 from Ticketmaster.

Tomorrow:

Shop at the Dublin Flea Market

Sundays are made for thrifting and where better to go this Sunday than the Dublin Flea Market in Newmarket, Dublin 8. The Flea takes place on the last Sunday of every month and has something for everyone, including food, clothing, vinyl and all manner of vintage finds. The market starts at 11 am and goes on until 5 pm and it’ll be your last chance to head along for the another month!

Next Week:

Get Immersed in the Audi International Film Festival

The annual Audi Dublin International Film Festival kicked off on Wednesday and is going strong until the curtain closes on 1st March. There’s a packed schedule of fantastic foreign and Irish films all this week, but be quick – many of the most popular titles sell out very quickly. The festival takes place across the city in the Lighthouse Cinema, Smithfield, Cineworld on Parnell Street and the Odeon at the Point Village. Expect to pay standard cinema rates for a ticket.

Connect with Your Language at An Gaeilgeoir Nua

Seachtain na Gaeilge kicks off on the 1st of March until St. Patrick’s Day. With countless events taking place around the country, whether you’re a wannabe or a fully fledged Gaeilgeoir, there’s plenty of opportunities to get involved with the Irish language. An Gaeilgeoir Nua’s three-week ‘Reimmersion’ programme is a brilliant way to get involved with the festival. Forget the (let’s face it) often tedious Irish classes of your childhood, hilarious concepts like ‘What would Queen Méabh’s Tinder look like?’ make this a pretty cool way to get your cúpla focal back into gear. The three-week course, with one class a week in Club Chonradh na Gaeilge on Harcourt Street, costs just €30.00.
