ON NETFLIX:

Bodyguard

This six-part series from Jed Mercurio dominated conversation, ratings and awards to such an extent that no other show stood a chance - it gave the BBC its biggest ratings hit in a decade. It centres on tormented protagonist David Budd (played by a brooding Richard Madden in a multi-award-winning role) an army veteran with PTSD now working as a police officer, assigned to guard the home secretary, Julia Montague. Every episode features plot-twists and so much drama - it is one of the best series in recent years.

Bodyguard is available to stream on Netflix now

ON THE BIG SCREEN:

Dumbo

Struggling circus owner Max Medici (an energetic Danny DeVito) enlists a former star Max (Colin Farrell) and his two children to care for Dumbo, a baby elephant born with oversized ears. When the family discovers that the animal can fly, it soon becomes the main attraction -- bringing in huge audiences and revitalizing the run-down circus. The elephant's magical ability also draws the attention of V.A. Vandevere (Burton regular Michael Keaton), an entrepreneur who wants to showcase Dumbo in his latest, larger-than-life entertainment venture. Also starring an enigmatic Eva Green, it is Burton's safest - and his sweetest - film.

Dumbo is in Irish cinemas nationwide now
