Wedding flower trends 2018: Dress your venue in plenty of greenery

Flowers really do set the tone of a wedding- whether you’re going for rustic, minimal or all out traditional, your flowers can say it all.

When it comes to wedding flower trends, brides this year will be looking for bang for their buck and investing in statement pieces like flower walls, hanging installations and arches to wow on Instagram. They don’t have to be OTT or blow your budget, they can be as simple as a flower backdrop or an extra special garland for the head table but if you can, by all means, go all out with a dramatic vertical installation.

If you can gather your own greenery in abundance you might be able to offset the price of a showy feature piece (or two). Irish hedgerows and gardens are great sources for some of the most essential greens, ivy in particular, though you’ll probably have to buy in eucalyptus. Forage for field greens, too, if the season allows- a quick trip to the country with your secateurs ad a few bridesmaids can yield treasures that cost a fortune in urban shops.
