Watch: The Most Heartbreaking Christmas Ad Ever Made

Oh, sweet baby Jesus, prepare to weep and wail like a banshee at your desk on this Monday morning. This German Christmas ad goes to major lengths to tug at our heartstrings and boy, do they succeed. ‘Heartbreaking’ doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Though a little extreme (watch it and you’ll see what we mean), this ad is a major reminder that Christmas is not about the presents or the parties, nor an excuse to be here there and everywhere, but a chance to come home, and spend time with the people who matter; the people who might not always be around.

Excuse us while we ring our parents and tell them we love them, sobbing and snotting down the phone.

Cancel your plans, and make sure to eat dinner with the elderly in your life this Christmas.
