Watch: Colin Farrell Gets Interrogated

Actor Colin Farrell is the talk of the town at the moment, thanks to his latest role in the second series of True Detective, and by way of promoting the series, he appeared on Jimmy Fallon with his co-star Vince Vaughn. The pair where challenged to a new game of deception, aptly titled ?True Confessions,? where one had to read aloud a claim, and the other has a minute to interrogate and evaluate if the statement is true or false.

Farrell is pretty good (and a little scary) at the interrogation part, however he was forced to do some explaining after he revealed that his own interrogation incident was actually true. He said he was left terrified after he was taken into custody for attempted murder - beating up a man and setting fire to his apartment and leaving him there - in Australia.

But calm down guys, it was just a case of mistaken identity. Farrell explains: "They showed me a photo-fit, a pencil sketch of the guy that had attempted to murder, this other gentleman - had beat him up and left him in his own apartment, set the apartment on fire and split, thereby leaving him to burn to death - and it was me. They had bushy eyebrows, a mole on his face, spoke even in 2D with an Irish accent," he said.

?They asked me what I thought of the picture and I said, ?I think I'm in trouble!??

We know there's just no way that Farrell could do anything like that, but the True Detective star admitted that the likeliness between him and the suspect made him question his actions that night.

?It was a long time ago and I was drunk. I saw a photo-fit of the guy that actually did the crime and it looked remarkably like me and for a second I - because I had had a blackout that night - I wondered, could I have done such a thing? Luckily, my friend had kept a journal of what we got up to that night and it ended up okay.? Colin added that they never did catch his doppelganger in the end, which we think is more than a bit scary.

Both Jimmy Fallon and Vince Vaughn are also featured in the interrogation hot seat and the whole thing makes for a very amusing watch altogether. See the whole thing below:
