With it being World Gin Day tomorrow, what better way to settle into the weekend than with a toast to celebrate on the scenic Bray seafront? The Summer Gin Fest spans seven of the best venus in Bray, with a different band to musically accompany your night every evening. Free to head along, and on all weekend.

Saturday: Have the Time of Your Life at Dirty Dancing at the Sugar Club

Dirty Dancing, an absolute classic for the ages, is taking its turn at the Sugar Club’s screening sessions, where it will be playing tomorrow at 8 pm. Complimentary popcorn will be on hand, with plenty of 80s tunes to continue the night after the movie ends. Tickets from €15, with an option to upgrade to prosecco too.

Tucked away on Thomas Street lies a haven of budding Irish artists and designers, and this weekend, their latest creations will be revealed. NCAD’s 2019 Graduate Show opens to the public on Saturday morning until June 16, where the public can see projects in fashion, textiles, glasswork, paint, sculpture and more. After having a sneak peek at the exhibitions ourselves, we can tell you you’re in for a treat.

Saturday: Party at Slane with Metallica

There are two types of people: those whose idea of hell is standing in a rainy field listening to Metallica, and those who think that sounds like heaven. If you’re the latter, get yourself down to Slane tomorrow to witness the absolute musical beast of Metallica, along with special guests Ghost and Bokassa. There are still some tickets available, but be quick — you’ve got transport to think about too.

All weekend: Enjoy Europe’s biggest LGBT+ inclusive rugby tournament

Ahead of the fourth anniversary of the Marriage Referendum, Union Cup, Europe’s biggest LGBT+ inclusive rugby tournament is taking place in Dublin’s DCU over the weekend. Teams competing in the inaugural women’s tournament will be playing for the Ann Louise Gilligan Cup. 45 teams from 15 countries will play, with eight women’s teams competing alongside the men’s. Not only this, renowned referee Nigel Owens, MBE, will referee the final on Sunday. It promises to be a great weekend out for all the family and pushes a fantastic message. Tickets are available from www.unioncupdublin.ie; €10 Adult, €5 Child (under 2 go free), with all profits going to BeLonG To LGBT+ youth services.
