Vintage pattern and prints to bring into your home

Vintage pattern and prints to bring into your home

We loved H&M’s recent collaboration with Morris & Co, the quintessentially British interiors brand founded in 1861. So much so, that it’s got us thinking about beautiful vintage patterns, and inspired us to find ways to introduce them into the home. From traditional wallpaper to intricately adorned fabrics, here are a few of the treasures our search led to.

The wallpaper is based on a carpet designed from the 1890s. Montreal was one of the most woven of all of the oriental-style carpets produced by Morris & Co. Montreal wallpaper, from around €92 per roll, Wallpaper Direct.

Enrich your counter with Beija Flor’s roll stickers that are pretty and old-looking, but far from old-fashioned. Wabi Sabi roll stickers, from €35, Beijaflor.

The colourful print is based on traditional tapestry and contrasts dramatically against the dark background. Digitally printed on a non-woven base,  it can be hung in the traditional classic paste the wall method. Floral Tapestry Wallpaper, €175 for 3 rolls, April and the Bear.

The beautifully detailed print are given a modern twist with the large format design. Tree of Life Toile wallpaper in blue, £210 per roll, Timorous Beasties.

The wallpaper offers grandeur without garishness with its rich tones of bronze and blue. The print is inspired by interiors from the late 1800s. Foglavik from the Anno collection by Borastapeter, €79.50 roll, is available through Furnishing Distributors.

The bright, happy print is brave and bold. If you are unsure if you are daring enough for such a strong print, the cover can easily be changed for a plain coloured cover. Ektorp three-seat sofa in Lingbo multicolour, €350, Ikea.

Another collaboration with a beautiful end result, this pack of three A5 paperback notebooks features prints from the House of Hackney x William Morris collection. Artemis & Hyacinth and Stripe set of 3 notebooks, around €13.70, House of Hackney
