Visit An Irish Design Sample Sale Here

Some of our favourite Irish designers and artists are hosting a spectacular bank holiday sample sale this weekend at the Fumbally Exchange, Dublin. With seven amazing designers under one roof – including Emma Manley, Jill De Burca and the crew from Electronic Sheep – you’ll be spoiled for choice whether you’re on the hunt for new winter accessories, the perfect piece of Saturday night jewellery or if you just fancy a browse. The sale runs from 10AM to 5PM, and the designers will be there to answer any queries.

Get Inked For Pieta House Here

Today, the Ink Factory – located at No 15 Wellington Quay and No 19 Parliament Street – are hosting a very special charity drive in aid of Pieta House. From 11AM to 8PM, the Ink factories’ talented group of artists will be inking the semi-colon symbol (;) that has become synonymous with mental health awareness. Tattoos will be done on a first-come-first-served basis and it’s asked that people donate €50 per tattoo; with all proceeds going toward the charity. The group are hoping to beat last years’ final total of €12,500. There will also be an art auction taking place as well as entertainment and food throughout both studios.

Get Jazzy Here

The legendary Guinness Cork Jazz Festival returns to Cork city this coming bank holiday for a mammoth 40th-year celebration. Featuring over 1,000 musicians in hundreds of music sessions citywide, it is one of the most anticipated Irish festivals. Described as “Europes biggest party”, the city is holding its breath for the approximate 40,000 visitors (and their instruments and dancing shoes)  expected to visit over the coming days. This year the stellar line-up includes international acts such as Memphis jazz legend Dee Dee Bridgewater, Grammy Award-winning Kenny Garrett, critically acclaimed Nicholas Payton & James Morrison as well as home-grown talent soul sensation Imelda May, plus a special presentation of the music from the biggest selling jazz album of all time, Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue with Gary Crosby’s Nu Troop. For more info and tickets click here.

Visit Stokerland Here

Stokerland, a pop-up Victorian fun park for families and the eternally young, will open its gothic gates today and tomorrow in one of Dublin’s most beautiful green spaces – St. Patrick’s Park. With one of the city’s stunning cathedrals as a gothic backdrop, this ghoulish gathering will present comedy shows from Punch Lion Kids’ Comedy Club, featuring Andrew Stanley, Damian Clark, Steve Cummins and Totally Wired.  There’ll be street theatre from Victorian undertaker Morbid & Sons and a Kids vs Adults-themed Sing Along Social, alongside rides and attractions to ensure a fang-tastic time for all. Fun kicks off from 11AM. Click here for additional info.

Take In A Spooky Flea Market Here

Bray Beach Hallowe’en Market haunts the fantastic, newly-renovated Jim Doyle’s in Bray tomorrow, Sunday, October 29th, from 11am-5pm. Ramble round the wildly wonderful stalls, with a mix of craft, fashion, photography and more, and then treat yourself to a delicious Sunday roast in the brand-spanking new Bar in Jim Doyle’s. There might even indulge in a bit of apple dunking for the weekend that’s in it.??? Click here for more info.
