IFTA Nominations Are In

Hot off the press, the IFTA nominations have been released! It was very touch and go there for a while, after last year's ceremony that was pretty woeful on all accounts, but?rumour?has it the awards are indeed going ahead in 2015. This time, however, they're following suit with the BAFTAs, splitting the awards in two: May 24th will see the film awards take place, while the TV categories will have their time to shine this October.

Regardless of whether or not we actually enjoy sitting down to these awards on the telly, there's no denying the importance of the IFTAs as a worthy vehicle through which we can acknowledge and celebrate our home-grown talent. Once again, this year it's all about Love/Hate while St Patrick's Day (an amazing film that tackles the stigma and reality of mental health) and Lenny Abrahamson's Frank, starring Michael Fassbender and Domhnall Gleeson, take the reigns in the film categories.

One glance at the names below and you'll soon be reminded that here in Ireland, we're in pretty good company.
