Love sustainability? This pop-up shop in Dun Laoghaire is worth a visit

At IMAGE, we're passionate about sustainability. Individually, and as a company, we care about improving the environment we live in. We've already swapped disposable coffee cups for reusable keep-ups, and we've cut down on fast fashion in favour of swap-shops – but we won't stop there. This week we're visiting a pop-up shop in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, which offers sustainable lifestyle pieces for all the family.

If, like us, you're passionate about sustainability (and if you love to shop), this pop-up in Dun Laoghaire is worth a visit. Set up by three Irish women, this pop-up gives eco-minded customers a chance to browse ethical and environmentally friendly items.

For a limited time only, the trio of shops (including The Little Wooden Peg, reuzi, and Under the Willow Paper Co), will be based in Dun Laoghaire Shopping Centre. Collectively, they're the perfect antidote to fast fashion and throwaway culture.

The women behind it all

Ruth Anna Coss, Pat Kane and Joan King are the three businesswomen behind this joint venture. As mums, they want to ensure environmentally-friendly household items are available to families across Ireland.

Owner of, Ruth Anna Coss, says, “It's an exciting opportunity to showcase our unique blend of children’s clothing, toys, general household and lifestyle products, as well as locally printed illustrations and greeting cards."

The women will be at the pop-up throughout the week to share their passion (as well as their wealth of industry knowledge) for conscious and sustainable fashion and living. They're looking forward to chatting through their latest offerings, many of which aren’t available elsewhere in Ireland.

While their products are available to shop online, Ruth Anna says, "We know customers love to feel and touch the products," so they're excited to show off their collections in person.

The Little Wooden Peg

The Little Wooden Peg is an online children’s lifestyle store that celebrates the innocence of childhood. Founded by Ruth Anna, it is the home for clothes, toys, accessories and decor with an ethical, natural and homespun edge.

"Here, carefully curated brands have been chosen for their authentic craft and pared-back aesthetic," she says. "From simple woollen heirloom knits to long-lasting organic cotton that’s delicate on the skin, and beautiful, robust wooden toys – everything at The Little Wooden Peg will stand the test of time."

“My two children are the inspiration behind The Little Wooden Peg. I want to encourage them to care about the things in their lives, the clothing they wear, the toys they play with, and appreciate where they are made and the makers behind the craft.

"I think children should be taught to appreciate the tactile qualities and sensibilities of well-made design as they grow up," says Ruth Anna.
