What’s On: Plan the week ahead to include summertime songs and outdoor yoga

The Leaving Certificate examinations began this week, so naturally, it’s gorgeous weather outside. Sorry kids, but we’re going to bask in it. While we in IMAGE HQ are a little mixed up with our calendars post-Bank Holiday, there is one thing we’re sure of; we’re really excited for it to be Friday. This weekend and into next week sees a multitude of amazing events going on around Dublin. So what are you waiting for? Happy Weekend from IMAGE!

On Saturday – Feel Good Inc. at The Gorillaz at Malahide Castle

Off the back of a new album last year and a subsequent Brit award, the Gorillaz return to Ireland for their Humanz tour on Saturday in the gorgeous setting of Malahide Castle. Expect fans of every age from 15 to 50, plenty of tunes and (hopefully) some sun. There are still some tickets floating around on Ticketmaster.

On Saturday – Get motivated at SelfMade

If you want to start a music project and don’t know where to start, or are just interested in the semantics of DIY music, SelfMade II could be the night you need to attend this week. Discussion, art, zines and performance from four great alternative Irish acts will centre around the assets you need to build a music presence. Looks set to be really informative.

Saturday and Sunday – Be inspired at the NCAD Graduate Exhibition

If you want to grab a sneak peek into the next generation of Ireland’s art scene, the National College of Art and Design is holding its annual Graduate Exhibition this weekend. There’s a lot going on over the weekend, including round-table discussions, exhibitions and guided tours of the campus.

Sunday – Chill out at the Dublin Yoga and Vegan Festival

All your wellness needs in one place. Head to Trinity College on Sunday for a day of meditation, plant-based eats, discussions health (mental and physical) and even end the day with a Bollywood dance session. Nine yoga sessions are scheduled throughout the day, each at a cost of just 4 euro. You’ll be so relaxed that Monday won’t know what hit it.

On Thursday – Love your Dublin at the Culture Club at the National Gallery

If you love Dublin as much as we do, head to the National Gallery on Thursday evening to see how the city inspired artists throughout the years. Landscapes, figure studies and portraits from the gallery’s own collection will be arranged to show how Dublin was interpreted by artists over the centuries. Gorgeous one for art and Dublin lovers.

On Thursday – Have some lols at The Alison Spittle Show at The Camden Backyard

There’ll be Kopparberg, Alison Spittle, James Kavanagh, and loads of surprises. We really don’t need to convince you.
