Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa celebrated its 10th birthday with a special party to showcase all the resort had to offer returning visitors. Guests were welcomed with a performance by the Dublin Gospel Choir and were treated to bespoke melon daiquiri and Wicklow rose cocktails, and delicious canapés, including goat’s cheese mousse jelly consommé and basil cone; soy-cured salmon with Powerscourt soda bread; and foie gras pâté brioche and pomegranate.

Soprano Helen Smith then gave a magical performance in the new amphitheatre amidst the towering trees lit up with colourful floodlights as guests looked on from the terrace of SIKA Restaurant, sipping mugs of hot chocolate. Next up, LED drumming group WorldBeaters revved things up before all adjourned to another area of the hotel for dancing and heaps of decadent desserts. Among the VIP guests were Chris de Burgh and his daughter Rosanna Davison. All seemed rather impressed by the hotel’s latest features, including a future-proof €250,000 amphitheatre – perfect for weddings and events – and the newly-furnished Sugar Loaf Lounge.
