Social Pics: See who attended the Marie Keating Valentine Ball

On Saturday, February 15, guests attended a glamorous Valentine ball and art exhibition in aid of the Marie Keating Foundation

Hosted by the Catherine Lawlor School of Art in the Ballsbridge Hotel, more than 430 guests arrived for the inaugural Valentine Ball to raise vital funds for the Marie Keating Foundation.

Artists, supporters and ambassadors kicked off the art exhibition at 10 am, while the prosecco reception for the ball started at 7:30 pm. This was followed by a four-course meal and entertainment by Taylor’s Irish Dancers, ABBA tribute band Waterloo and First Class Entertainment.

‘We rely on generosity’

What’s more, RTÉ Radio One DJ Shay Byrne MC’d the event, during which successful bidders secured beautiful works of art by renowned Irish artists and Catherine Lawlor students alike. All funds raised will help to support the Marie Keating Foundation’s cancer awareness and support services.

Linda Keating, Director of Fundraising at the Marie Keating Foundation said. “[We] receive very little government funding and as a result, we rely heavily on the generosity of people like Catherine Lawlor to keep our awareness and support services going.

“Our aim is to support people at every step of their cancer journey. We also want to say a big thank you to all of our guests that came to this evening’s event. Your support means we can continue our mission of working towards a world free from the fear of cancer.”

Shay Byrne also added, “I’m thrilled to be here tonight supporting such an important cause. It is wonderful to see such a fantastic crowd come together to enjoy the beautiful art on display this evening, all while supporting the vital work of the Marie Keating Foundation.

“It is my third year supporting an event for the Foundation and I admire greatly the tireless work they do on behalf of cancer patients and survivors around Ireland,” he said.
