Slow fashion, music and a healthy dose of Gaeilge: this weekend's What's On is here

Spring is in the air, and we are so ready for these months of endless things to do to arrive. This weekend, there's a lot of projects surrounding the beast that is fast fashion, with Irish designers and swap shops providing plenty of ethical new threads for fashion lovers. If you're into music, the new episode of Other Voices airs on Thursday, while Seachtain na Gaeilge should inspire all of us to adopt a cúpla focal into our vocabulary. Happy weekend from IMAGE!

Mí na Marta: Bain úsáid as do chúpla focal le Seachtain na Gaeilge

Féile idirnáisiúnta Ghaeilge Seachtain na Gaeilge ag ciceáil as inniu, le himeachtaí ag tarladh timpeall na tíre go dtí deireadh na míosa, ag ceiliúradh an Ghaeilge agus ár gcultúr, teanga agus aitheantas féin. De réir leis an suíomh idirlíon, tugann an fhéile deis go gach éinne sult a bhaint as an nGaeilge, idir chainteoirí dúchais, fhoghlaimeoirí agus lucht an chúpla focal chomh maith. Féach ar a gcuid meáin shósialta le haigh na chuid sonraí agus imeachtaí.

Sunday: Check out the style at the MASI Clothes Swap

Designers in the City

Taking place perfectly after the Clothes Swap, Designers in the City is a brilliant idea that brings together budding Irish designers with fashion-forward shoppers looking for more ethical, local options. Whichever category you fall into, heading to the Camden Exchange on Sunday evening will be an eye-opener to the type of talent that's buzzing in Dublin right now when it comes to design and creativity.

On Thursday: Be inspired by a new Other Voices episode on RTÉ

If, like the rest of us, actually going to Other Voices is but a pipe dream (tickets are like gold dust), then the next best thing is watching it all on the box. RTÉ 2 have been showing specials of the legendary music series for the last couple of weeks, and next Thursday sees a particularly talented bunch take to the stage. This week's episode is of the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) Other Room, where they showcase the best up and coming artists from around Ireland. Acts include I Have A Tribe, Mango x Mathman, Kitt Philippa, Columbia Mills and Pow Pig, who were the winners of the 2018 Open Call, which saw thousands of entrants from all over the country. Airing Thursday at 11:30pm on RTÉ 2.
