Robin Williams Tribute Screenings

Robin Williams and Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting

The death of Robin Williams seems to have affected everyone we know.?Yesterday Ellie wrote about how his passing led to tears amid the flurry of retweets paying tribute to the great actor.?Last night social media was a parade of screen shots as his fans watched some of his best movies. The Lighthouse Cinema and Pieta House honour his memory by screening two of his most popular films ??Aladdin and?Good Will Hunting.

All proceeds will be donated to Pieta House, an organisation that offers a free, therapeutic approach to people who are in suicidal distress and those who engage in self-harm. See pieta.ie for more information. Aladdin will screen August 23rd with Good Will Hunting showing the next night. See lighthousecinema.ie for more details.

If you can’t wait a week then make your way to Fitzwilliam Square this Saturday evening where the pop-up cinema folk of Happenings will also be screening Good Will Hunting. See here for more details.

In the meantime check out this heartwarming tribute from the Broadway cast of Aladdin – you will shed tears.
