Resurrect The Weekend

Resurrect The Weekend

The Easter Weekend is upon us and the weekend is packed tighter than a can of sardines. There is literally so much on this weekend it makes us wish that the clever people of the world had focused on teleporting, rather than on Google Glass. Amid private parties, dances in woods and some jammy time spent on a boat with the London Irish, here are the other things worth doing this weekend?

Thursday

Madlib DJ Set

easter_2

If barns and boats have eluded you, but beats are still on the menu, then Madlib’s DJ Set is sure to quench your thirst. The legendary music producer and rapper will be setting down the rules of engagement for the next few days at The Sugarclub. One of the most prolific artists in the field, this is one of the highlights of the weekend. Give me some Madvillainy and roll me back to 2004!

Friday

Great Friday @ Tropical Popical Never ones to miss a trick, the fine females of Trop Pop have thrown together a pregame party that will get your behind in gear for the weekend. Think Tropical Popical Punch cocktail to go with your explosively colorful nails and you’re flying.

The Life of Brian ? Happenings ease us into the weekend that’s in it, by reminding us of the reason for the celebration. Monty Python’s tale of a very naughty boy, screened in the surroundings of Fitzwilliam Square will get you to that giddy pre-party stage, while allowing you to finally bask in that evening sunshine you’ve been observing through your office window.

Nuit Blanche

nuit_blanche

Supernatural is the name and game of this particular evening. Need we say more? Yes, we must. The exquisitely explosive ladies of Hunt & Gather give us a night of neon and otherworldliness. Have a gander here

Saturday

Pleasants Place Weekend MarketWe take for granted that you at this point are in search of some TLC. The Mingle Marcade, having relocated to Pleasants Street, ?will be offering up all sorts of bric-a-brac, jewellery, vintage clothes, and all the good vibes to get rid of the not-so-good Friday mischief.

Lego Exhibition The Art Of Brick ?

lego

Tis the season to be into Lego, after their genius movie made it onto most €100 best movies of all time? lists, we are pretty naturally psyched about this. Pricey though it is (?17), 70 sculptures involving over a thousand Lego bricks will banish even the mos tacute hangover.

Record Store Day

I-am-the-cosmos-cover

A celebration of independent music and the shops that support it, the audible delights come fast and furious this year. Tower Records will be hosting Lisa Hannigan and Soak, whilst RAGE will see a series of DJs and bands take over the premises all day, with the likes of Louis Scully (Discotekken) supplying the tunes. Highlight is the Elastic Witch party in The Twisted Pepper where I Am The Cosmos and David Kitt will be putting in a delectable appearance.
