One of our favourites – and arguably the most Christmas-themed – is a glass of mulled wine. The aromas and taste of the festive drink are what Christmas dreams are made of.

With a perfect location in the heart of Dublin City, this is the ideal spot to stop off after Christmas shopping on Henry Street. The former St Mary's Church of Ireland was built in the 18th century and is unlike any other bar in the city right now. The bar celebrates Irish music and dance so you can be guaranteed a few jigs and reels while feasting on a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.

Located near the idyllic St Stephens Green, this award-winning venue buzzes all year round but particularly ignites in December. The dining room was built in 1864 as the Lord Mayor's 'Supper Room' and features vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows and a beautiful terrace which overlooks the Lord Mayor's Garden. It also doubles as an ideal spot to sip on their famous mulled wine.
